Hi! I am Deniz, an illustrator based in London. After earning an MSc in Atmospheric Sciences, I worked as a researcher in Istanbul for a decade before deciding to pursue my dream of illustration. I recently completed Children's Book Illustration MA.
I love the flexibility of digital tools and the freedom of traditional media, often combining both in my creative practice. Experimenting with different materials and sketchbook play are my favourite parts of being an illustrator. Small, everyday moments and nature are my greatest inspirations, and I enjoy creating whimsical scenes full of colour and texture. Every image has a unique story for me, and I love discovering it with my eyes, ears, and paint-covered fingers.
In my spare time, I enjoy taking walks with my sketchbook and treasure-hunting at local bookshops.
